Collection

Step One

Collection: The gathering of paper products.

Delivery

Step Two

Delivery: Paper is delivered to the recycling center.

Processing

Step three

Processing: Once it is at the recycling center, the paper is sorted by type, and non-paper contaminants are removed.

Loading

Step Four

Loading: Paper is baled and then loaded into crates to be transported to a paper mill at which the recycling process takes place.

Pulping

Step Five

Pulping: Recovered fiber is shredded and combined with water, creating a pulp. The pulp is cleaned, dyes and coatings are mixed in, and water is drained from the pulp mixture.

Papermaking

Step Six

Papermaking: Massive rollers remove any remaining moisture and smooth the crude paper into uniform thickness.

New Paper

Step Seven

New Paper: The paper is now ready to be cut for use.
